Alexander-Smith Academy is dedicated to individual educational instruction. The school offers a challenging curriculum on three levels: College-preparatory, Honors and Advanced Placement. Alexander-Smith Academy classes at all levels are taught in a structured, individualized environment. Alexander-Smith Academy has structured the classes to help students get the most from the learning process. Classes are small enough (5-7 students per class) for students to get the personal attention they need. Classes are large enough, however, to foster interaction, discussion and debate.
Alexander-Smith Academy is a fully accredited college-preparatory high school. In 1976, Alexander Smith Academy earned accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and, in 1984, they gained accreditation by the Texas Education Agency. In 2006, Alexander-Smith Academy also became accredited by Texas SACS CASI and AdvancED. Most recently, this school has been authorized under Federal Law to enroll nonimmigrant students. Accreditation and authorization by these premier entities ensures Alexander-Smith Academy’s continuous dedication to our program’s quality and effectiveness.
